This is for the serious gamer, the demanding creative professional, and the builder who wants to invest in a platform that won’t need a major overhaul for a very long time.

We’re moving into the latest generation of platforms, where performance and cutting-edge features are paramount.
CPU: AMD Ryzen 9600x
The brain of our operation is the brand new AMD Ryzen 9600x. This processor represents the new sweet spot for high-end performance, offering incredible single-core speeds for gaming and a powerful multi-core architecture for creative tasks. A powerful CPU needs a powerful cooler to match. While the processor might come with a basic cooler, investing in a high-performance air cooler is one of the best things you can do for the health and performance of your rig. It allows the CPU to maintain its maximum boost speeds for longer, resulting in a faster, quieter system. Personally, I always gravitate towards Noctua or be quiet! for their legendary performance and near-silent operation, but the value offered by other brands is impossible to ignore.

With six high-performance heat pipes and a single, ultra-quiet Silent Wings 4 fan, it provides extremely high cooling performance with minimal noise. It also has excellent compatibility with tall RAM modules.
- The Ultimate Air-Cooling Showcase: be quiet! Dark Rock Elite (£94.99). The Elite is a beefy, beautiful cooler designed for maximum performance and aesthetics. - The Connoisseur’s Choice: Noctua NH-U12A chromax.black (£119.95). Noctua is legendary in the PC building community for a reason. - The Enthusiast Pick: CORSAIR VENGEANCE RGB DDR5 32GB (2x16GB) 6000MHz (£89.99). For a little more, you can double your capacity to 32GB, increase your speed to the 6000MHz “sweet spot,” and add some spectacular RGB lighting to your rig. This is our recommendation for this build.

Once again, there’s only one choice for us here. The MSI SPATIUM M470 PRO SSD 1TB – PCIe 4.0 NVMe M.2 remains the undisputed champion of price-to-performance. It’s top-spec, affordable, and a must-buy for any build.

GPU: Choose Your Level of Power
This is the most crucial—and variable—part of the build. Your choice here will define your gaming and rendering performance.
- The Smart Baseline: MSI GeForce RTX 5060 Ti 16G VENTUS (£399.98). This remains the best value proposition on the market. With 16GB of VRAM (matching the far more expensive 5080) and the power of DLSS 4, it will handle 1440p gaming with ease and is a monster for creative work.

- The Ultimate Choice: ASUS ROG Astral GeForce RTX 5090 32GB GDDR7 White OC Edition Gaming (£2,519.48). This is it. The beast. The 5090 is the most powerful consumer graphics card on the planet. It will annihilate any game at any resolution for years to come and will cut down rendering times like nothing else. It’s an investment, but its power is undeniable.
PSU: Fuelling the Beast
With great power comes great power consumption. We advise going no lower than 850W for this build.
- The Solid Foundation: MSI MAG A850GL 850W PCIE5 (£99.94). An excellent 80+ Gold rated, fully modular PSU that will handle a 5080 build with ease.
- The 5090 Choice: CORSAIR RM1000x 1000W (£163.87). If you’re opting for a 5090, moving up to 1000W is a wise decision. This card alone can draw over 600W when pushed, so the extra headroom is crucial for stability.
- The Extreme User: NZXT C1200 Gold 1200W (£159.98). If you plan on heavy overclocking, running multiple drives, and using every USB port you have, 1200W provides ultimate peace of mind.
- A Note on Cables: When buying a PSU for a 4090 or 5090, look for models that are “ATX 3.0” or “PCIe 5.0” compliant and come with the native 12V-2×6 power connector to ensure clean and safe power delivery.
